Marist Study Center

The beginning of March saw the Marist Study Center open its doors to its first group of students. There are currently 15 Thai, both children and adults, studying English under the enthusiastic tutelage of Sr Yupa.

Marist Study Center is an MMR initiative which primarily seeks to offer Burmese teenagers the opportunity to further their education. At present, very few Burmese teenagers go to school in Ranong, as most begin working at an early age. The school programme for Burmese children at MSC is due to start in mid-May.

MSC is also offering English language classes on a tuition-type basis.
