Chanel Community Center serves as our mission headquarters. It is managed by Mr Ronald Lida.

As well as a meeting place for Burmese and Thai, it houses several offices:

HIV/AIDS - headed by Fr. John

Stella Maris - headed by Kyi Thar

Pastoral Care - headed by Fr Kevin

Chanel Community Center

In a border town with various nationalities there is a special need for a “center” where everyone, regardless of race, religion, or occupation, feels welcomed. The Chanel Community Center offers hope for a greater sense of community, as well as opportunities for on-going education.

Our staff are ready to offer a welcome to anyone who comes. We offer training in English, Thai, Burmese and computer skills. Our community outreach goes from the Center to the fishing boats and factories. This outreach is linked with the international seafarers organization called “Stella Maris”.
